Ian Welch is a power engineer with extensive experience within the electricity and gas energy networks. A Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the IET, he combines technical expertise with clear understanding of the approaching energy challenges including future networks and balancing renewable energy resources with customer efficiency and demand control. With a passion for innovation Ian is recognised as an industry thought leader and has successfully directed the Innovation and R&D programme of National Grid plc, a FTSE 100 energy company in UK and US.
Goran Strbac is a Professor of Energy Systems at Imperial College London with extensive experience in advanced modelling and analysis of operation, planning, security and economics of future energy systems. His research, conducted in close collaboration with energy industry and policy makers, focuses on the development of technical, economic and market frameworks to facilitate secure and cost effective integration of new forms of low carbon generation considering flexible technologies including energy storage, advanced network and demand side technologies. He is a member of the Editorial Boards of a number of scientific and engineering journals, participates in working groups within CIGRE, CIRED IET, IEEE and IEA, has co-authored 5 books and published over 180 technical papers.
Randi Abernethy is a business manager with proven ability to lead multi-million pound projects from concept to successful implementation. Randi is currently consulting at Barclays Investment Bank, with a focus on delivering global and investment bank-wide impact assessments of emerging financial regulations. Prior to consulting at Barclays, Randi was a Director at LCH.Clearnet, a leading multi-asset class and multi-national clearing house, where she was responsible for the development, implementation and subsequent running of the Nodal Exchange clearing service. Nodal Exchange is a leader in innovation amongst derivatives exchanges, having introduced the world’s largest set of electric power locational (nodal) futures contracts. She has a MBA from London Business School.
Felix von Schubert has over 18 years of private equity, technology investment and operating experience. His experience includes founding Zouk Capital, an independent private equity and infrastructure fund manager dedicated to the cleantech and renewable energy market, managing over €600 million. Felix has been involved in over 20 investments in Europe, North America and Asia. Felix was Chairman of one of Germany’s highly successful publicly listed technology start-up for over 11 years. Felix started his career at JPMorgan M&A practice focusing on oil and gas transactions in Russia, Middle East and South Korea.
Terry Parsons has worked in the technology sector for over 30 years, with 20 years of that time spent in senior executive positions in companies focused on communications, Internet/data networking and eCommerce. His experience has encompassed startups to Fortune 100 companies, and spans multiple countries and industries. He is currently CTO of sister companies 192.com Ltd and Hooyu.com Ltd, is NED for Iovox Ltd and Advisor to Ometria in addition to Origami Energy.
