Purpose of the role: Why this role is important to Origami
Origami Energy Ltd is an ambitious new technology company aiming to provide the technology and financial mechanisms (i.e. the marketplace) to connect, control and actively manage a large network of existing energy generating / energy using / energy storing products connected to the electricity grid.

This role is part of the Origami Commercial team whose purpose is to create revenue and profit for Origami by delivering compelling solutions for our customers and partners. We are building strong and deep relationships with our key customers and partners that we will convert into framework contracts that include a binding commitment to participate in the early field trials of Origami’s technology and, later, into a national rollout. The early focus of this customer engagement is to build strong business cases that reflect the tangible value that can be delivered through working with Origami. The Strategic Marketing Manager role is critical to achieving this by increasing the visibility of the organisation and ensuring that the commercial team has access to relevant and impressive marketing collateral to share with prospective partners and customers.

Key Deliverables & Responsibilities:
Work closely with marketing agency to oversee their activities  (examples below)

–          Branding

–          Communications

–          Product Launches

–          Website / SEO / Digital channels and online presence

–          Creation of collateral and promotional materials

–          Case Studies

–          Videos

–          White papers

–          Direct marketing campaigns

–          PR / Press releases

–          Events

–          Lead generation

Ensure the marketing agency is briefed fully and understands the requirements from the commercial team

Ensure the senior management team have visibility of new materials for sign off in order to reach decisions in a timely fashion to ( eg encourage a rapid response from all key stakeholders to prevent delays)

Determine best technical approach to execute the messaging strategy which might include vetting internal resources and 3rd party services

Develop monitoring capabilities to ensure the programme is working as planned; effectively communicate issues to responsible groups within the organisation for quick resolution

Provide regular reporting and analysis of messaging performance

 

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Qualifications and Experience:
Graduate with marketing qualifications (CIM)

Senior level B2B Strategic Marketing experience in an energy / utilities / services / telecoms environment

Experience of having taken an early stage start-up to the next level 

Skills:
 Strategic planning

Management of an agency relationship

Good intellect – able to comprehend a complex service offering

Managing internal senior level stakeholders – pushing through decisions to avoid bottlenecks

Strong personality – comfortable with challenging senior stakeholders as well as being challenged

An ability to create powerful content is key – a background in journalism would be a real advantage
